The 2nd JCOMM Scientific and Technical Symposium on Storm Surges will be held in Key West, Florida, USA, on 8-13 November 2015. It is to be held in conjunction with the 14th International Workshop on Wave Hindcasting and Forecasting. This joint meeting is sponsored by the Taylor Engineering Research Institute at the University of North Florida, Environment Canada and the WMO-IOC Joint Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology (JCOMM). Information on meeting logistics and registration details is available here.

Data availability from National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Tropical Atmosphere Ocean (TAO) array in the equatorial Pacific Ocean has improved to above the 80% data availability performance target.

A DBCP workshop, 4 - 7 May 2015, in Palau will increase awareness of ocean processes, ocean observing, and data applications and work towards conceptualization of a Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System.
