Event – Global Ocean Observing System

The IOC Twenty-third Assembly decided, by Resolution XXIII-12, to create the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (IOTWS) and to establish an Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the IOTWS (ICG/IOTWS). The Tenth Session of the ICG/IOTWS will be held at the Headquarters of the Public Authority of Civil Aviation in Muscat, Oman, 24 - 26 March 2015, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman. This session of the ICG/IOTWS will be preceded at the same venue by a regional conference on: "Reducing Tsunami Risk in the Western Indian Ocean", 22-23 March, and the inauguration of Oman's National Multi-Hazard Early Warning System on 23 March. Separate registation for the conference is required. General information about meeting arrangements is available in the information note provided in the documentation section. A hotel reservation form is also provided and this should be completed and returned to the local organizer prior to 28th February to secure accommodation.
