IOC UNESCO through the ICG/IOTWS has secured funding from the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) for a project entitled: “Enhancing Tsunami Risk Assessment and Management, Strengthening Policy Support and Developing Guidelines for Tsunami Exercises in Indian Ocean Countries”. One activity of the project is to conduct a regional training workshop on "Regional Workshop on Training Modules for Tsunami Exercises Policy Support" based on lessons learned of two training modules developed for this project (Tsunami Exercise Policy Support and Tsunami Exercise) that was pilot tested in Bangladesh, Myanmar and Timor Leste.
