Within the framework of the implementation of the DIPECHO Project: "Strengthening early warning and response capacities for tsunami and other coastal hazards in Central America", executed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) , with funding from the General Directorate for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection of the European Commission (ECHO); the National Workshop for the consolidation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and strengthening of the coordination mechanisms between the scientific and response agencies has been programmed; oriented to the improvement of the capacity of response to tsunami events in the Republic of Guatemala.
