Through its UN Ocean Decade programme Ocean Observing Co-Design, GOOS is working to co-design an expanded and fit for purpose observing system with users and partners in the information delivery value chain. The programme works on a) developing co-design ‘Exemplar’ Projects in high societal impact use areas across IOC and WMO-related priorities, and b) providing a practice based forum for evolution of ocean observing co-design processes learning and development of practices and guidance.
The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC) seeks an ocean professional to undertake a consultancy contract to support the GOOS Ocean Observing Co-Design Ocean Decade programme. The position will focus on contributing to the development of the co-design approach in areas relevant across World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and UNESCO-IOC, to support the Ocean Observing Co-Design programme and its exemplar projects, and to support the connection of the Co-Design programme and its exemplars to WMO, GOOS, and Ocean Decade activities.
