The Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) enables the timely, sustained and global flow of data for ocean hazard early warnings and weather and ocean forecasting.
It helps coastal communities, societies and actors in the blue economy protect themselves against high waves, storm surges, tsunamis or environmental disasters like oil or chemical spills.
Data provided by GOOS also offers organizations in the blue economy necessary real-time and historical ocean spanning physical and ecosystems information to plan their business processes.
